Dear reader, let us start with the most important and calling for
an even higher awareness of the dangers of the mullahs' regime.
NCRI - Womens committee - 15 April 2024 - in Women's News
<<Marjan Hajizadeh, 19, hanged in the Central Prison of Zanjan,
Iran
A 19-year-old woman named Marjan Hajizadeh was executed on
Thursday, April 11, 2024, in the Central Prison of Zanjan, Iran.
Marjan Hajizadeh and her husband, Esmail Hassaniani, 29, had been
sentenced to death on drug related charges. They were arrested and
imprisoned three years ago. Marjan Hajizadeh was only 16 years and 4
months old at the time of arrest and detention. Marjan and Esmail were
arrested on a motorway in Zanjan. Marjan didn't know her husband was
carrying drugs, and she was innocent. The execution of this young couple
has not yet been announced by the official authorities at the time of
publishing this news. Marjan Hajizadeh is the 233rd woman to be executed
in Iran since 2007, according to the data gathered by the NCRI Women's
Committee. She is the 4th woman executed in Iran in 2024.
Record holder of executions of women
The Iranian regime is the world's top record holder of executions
of women.
No government in the world has executed so many women. The list
does not account for the tens of thousands of women executed in Iran on
political grounds. The NCRI Women's Committee previously mentioned that
many of the women executed by the mullahs' regime are themselves victims
of domestic violence against women and have acted in self-defense.
An average of 15 women were executed every year under the former
government in Iran.
However, 26 women were executed under Raisi government in 2023,
which is 11 more than the previous average.
The NCRI Women's Committee calls on the United Nations, the
European Union, and other relevant international organizations to take
urgent action to save the lives of those on death row and stop the use
of death penalty in Iran.>>

Atena Farghadani
NCRI - Womens committee - 14 April 2024 - in Women's News
<<Atena Farghadani is violently rearrested, detained in Qarchak
Prison
Atena Farghadani, the famous cartoonist and a former political
prisoner, was violently arrested by security forces on Saturday, April
13, 2024, and transferred to the notorious Qarchak Prison for women. In
protest to her arbitrary arrest, she refused to accept bail bond. For
this reason, security forces took her to Qarchak Prison in Varamin. Her
lawyer, Mohammad Moqimi, reported that Atena Farghadani had been badly
brutalized at the time of arrest so much that the scars were evident on
her face. However, there is no information available on the reason for
her apprehension and the charges leveled against her. Atena Farghadani,
a cartoonist, painter, and children's rights activist residing in
Tehran, was arrested on June 7, 2023, after being summoned to the
interrogation courthouse of District 33 for interrogation. In an
interview after being freed, she explained that the authorities of
Qarchak Prison had tried to poison her. They detained her in a solitary
room without any lavatory and did not allow her to leave the room and
use the bathroom. They also tried to force her to make televised
confessions, which she refused. Finally, on June 20, they abandoned her
in a hospital after she went unconscious due to hunger strike.

Atena Farghadani showing one of her cartoons
Ms. Farghadani was previously deprived of continuing her studies
at the master's level due to her activities. She was arrested in
September 2014 and sentenced to 12 years and nine months of imprisonment
for drawing and posting on social media cartoons that depicted members
of the regime's parliament with animal heads. She was charged with
<conspiracy against national security,> <propaganda against the state,>
and <insulting members of the parliament.> Ultimately, this sentence was
reduced to 18 months of imprisonment in the Revision Court.>>

Three Religious Activists in Sanandaj
Hengaw Organisation for Human Right - 13 April 2024
<<Three Religious Activists in Sanandaj Subject to Enforced
Disappearance for Nearly Two Years by Iranian Government
Three Sunni Kurdish religious activists in Sanandaj (Sine),
Shahram Abadian, Afshin Ahmadi, and Jamshid Ahmadi, were detained by the
security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran one year and eight
months ago and have since been subjected to enforced disappearance.
According to a report received by the Hengaw organization for Human
Rights, Shahram Abadian and his two brothers-in-law, Afshin and Jamshid
Ahmadi, all married with children from Sanandaj, have been detained by
undercover government forces for the past 19 months. The government has
not released any information regarding their whereabouts or well-being.
According to a source close to the families of these detainees, during
nearly one year and eight months of detention, they have not had any
contact with their families, not even a phone call. The source added
that despite continuous efforts by the families of Shahram Abadian,
Afshin, and Jamshid Ahmadi to approach the judicial and security
authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, no results have been
achieved, and all their efforts have been unresolved. Moreover, anyone
inquiring about the situation of these detainees has been threatened by
intelligence officials in Sanandaj for publishing the incident and the
direct involvement of the intelligence agency in their disappearance. It
is important to note that Shahram Abadian has been detained at least
three times in the past year by the security forces of the Islamic
Republic of Iran prior to his current arrest. Hengaw has learned that
Shahram Abadian's vehicle was confiscated when he visited the
intelligence office to inquire about the status of his brother-in-law.
Recently, after several months, the car was found on a street in
Islamabad Gharb (Shabad), Kermanshah Province, intact and without any
scratches or damages. Afshin and Jamshid Ahmadi were both working as
mobile vendors (selling fruits), and their brother-in-law, Shahram
Abadian, was also a mobile vendor earning a living by vending on the
streets. Additionally, intelligence personnel in Sanandaj have
foreclosed the clothing store of Shahram Abadian's wife, putting this
family in a very difficult economic situation. Afshin and Jamshid Ahmadi
were arrested in public at the 'Arshad Mosque' in Sanandaj by the
security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Thursday, August
18th, 2022, while brutally assaulted and severely beaten during the
arrest and taken to an undisclosed location. A day later, their
brother-in-law, Shahram Abadian, was also detained, and his car was
confiscated after he visited the Intelligence Agency to inquire about
the situation of his brothers-in-law.>>

<<Iran's Rial Dips to All-time Low Against US Dollar
The Iranian Rial continued its downward spiral on Saturday amidst
escalating tensions with Israel and concerns of a potential war. The US
dollar surpassed the 660,000-rial mark for the first time on the open
market. With an annual inflation rate reaching about 50 percent,
Iranians have been scrambling to convert their savings into hard
currencies or gold. The Rial's decline intensified following the recent
Israeli attack on Iran's consulate in Syria and subsequent tensions
between the two nations. The Iranian government has yet to offer a
public explanation for the sharp decline of the Rial. The combination of
a weakening currency, rising tensions, and a potential trade imbalance
threatens to create significant economic hardship for the Iranian
people. With the annual inflation rate reaching about 50 percent,
